What is a PDW700? I see it as the replacement for the Digital Betacam range. This will be an industry standard—the workhorse of mainstream, high end broadcast production. The PDW700 records a 4:2:2 50Mbps HD signal, giving disk record times of 95 minutes on the new 50Gb discs. It has a 2/3 inch lens, and can also record SD if required. The camera can also feed into a HDCAM SR recorder for feature film applications. |
